When a child hits, bites, runs away, or screams "you're not invited to my birthday party," what's actually happening in their brain? In this session, Mr. Chazz breaks down the three brain states - survival, emotional, and executive - and explains why understanding them changes everything about how we respond to challenging behaviors.

Drawing from Conscious Discipline and his daily experience teaching mixed-age groups in Brooklyn, Mr. Chazz walks through exactly what to say and do when big behaviors happen. He explains why fawn (the people-pleasing survival response) isn't the win adults think it is, why punishment keeps kids stuck in lower brain states where learning can't happen, and how to create the felt safety and connection children need before any teaching can stick.

This session offers practical scripts and strategies: how to approach a child who just hit without "coming at them hot," language that helps kids feel understood, and how to teach skills like asking for a turn before conflict happens. Most importantly, Mr. Chazz reminds us to Q-TIP (Quit Taking It Personally) - because these behaviors aren't about us, they're about how the brain works.
