Screen time gets most of the attention, but it is only one of the ways a person spends a day. Mick Olds, OT (The Occuplaytional Therapist) drew this workbook around five kinds of time: create, learn, screen, people, and move. The idea running through it is the Just Right Amount. Everybody's brain needs a different mix. Too little of something feels one way, too much feels another, and grown-ups and kids share the job of figuring out the right amounts together.

All 12 pages are hand-lettered in full color, and every blank page is paired with Mick's own filled-in version, so a kid can see how someone else answered before they try it themselves.

  • A blank pie chart for drawing what your own mix looks like, next to five very different examples
  • Sliders from "not enough" to "too much" for each kind of time, marked for today, this week, and this year
  • Space to list the things you like to do for each kind of time
  • Two pages on how you feel when you get not enough of something, and two on how you feel when you get too much
  • A page on how the categories overlap (learning from a screen, creating with people, moving to learn)
  • A page for anything you do that does not fit the five categories
